This is Why We Have Dogs (22 Pics)

In case you needed a reminder…

To help us with leftovers:

via

So we can laugh at their little mistakes:

via

And be cheered up after a rough day:

via

To keep our yards squirrel-free:

via

And also to put our tennis balls to good use:

via

To make sure we always get up on time:

via

So they can protect us:

via

…And we can humiliate them:

via

No really, humiliation is one of the best parts:

via

But so is lifelong friendship:

via

And of course, there’s the cuddles:

via

To remind us we all make mistakes:

via

And also to alert us to potential dangers:

via

Because even the smallest of us needs looking after:

via

And, of course, someone needs to look after them:

via

I mean let’s face it, some of them are pretty dumb:

via

But they help us too because smiles are contagious:

via

Also, they remind us we need to get our exercise:

via

And that there’s more to life than the Internet:

via

Also, those bellies aren’t gonna rub themselves:

via

I mean, we all need someone to spoil:

via

And someone to come home to everyday:

  1. Our 8 y/o Lhasa is the love of our lives and I must say hubby and I can associate with all your fabulous pictures. The last one about the 16 y/o hobbling out to greet her dad
had me fighting back tears. Thank you for sharing.

  2. I’ve had dogs all my life. I miss not being able to have one or two or three, but I currently live in assisted living and they do not permit them here. IT BREAKS MY HEART!

    1. My son owns an assisted living and I keep telling him if he would allow pets people would be standing in line. He would have to hire someone to be in charge of them as some of his residents wouldn’t be able to wash, feed, walk them and take them to the vet. But I think people would be willing to pay more for this service.

      1. They should just have a dog or two for the entire community to enjoy rather than having all them have their own. 1 dog can make a world of difference.

        1. my great-aunt’s assisted living/nursing home facility has a cat that wanders through the halls, visiting whoever he wants. a “community cat”, if you will 🙂

  3. Thank you so much for the postings of dogs – I can relate to lots of them. Before my miniature poodle turned two she would whine to get up on hubby’s knee when he was on the internet then stand in front of the monitor to get his attention!

  4. ..I’ve got 14y old black little poodle and she was the love of my life, now I’m loving 6y old white one..I like articles like this..
