Ok, the flag thing is dumb. First of all I live and grew up in the US and we never used a map like that and second of all it serves the purpose of showing the oceans not split in half. So if you are studying the oceans this is the map you should use and if you are studying the continents then use the appropriate map. There are plenty of valid reasons to make fun of America, heck stewart and colbert do a great job at it, but I hate the jokes that don’t even make sense/can easily be explained rationally with common sense.
